Ce weekend, j’ai fait…

… a tote bag !

This should help me with my studies :q

Here is the story. This Saturday I went out with my boyfriend to try a curry restaurant for lunch. Our bellies full with tasty foods, we reached for our bicycles and then we noticed that the streets were a little bit noisier than usual. Shops were open in the agonizing shopping streets of Wakayama city and I couldn’t resist.

Near the end of the street there is a fabric shop that makes me stop every time we pass by but I never bought anything there. But this time I had an excuse : I needed a tote bag to carry my books for school. I have a backpack that is very comfortable and useful but the temperature is rapidly rising as the hot and humid Japanese summer is coming. You see, I go to the university by bicycle and then I have a 10 minutes hiking in the mountain before I reach the campus. Even if  I walk very slowly I end up with a sweaty back every day also due to my black and slightly heavy backpack.

I bought two pieces of Japanese fabric from a wooden box that said “105yen”. It took me a while to choose among all the pretty and simple designs. I really like the geometrical pattern of the dark blue one and the texture of the beige fabric. I also bought the rope for the handles. It simply made me very happy to look at the little package and to think of ways to make a nice bag out of it.
